DRAFT Thursday June 14, 2007 at 7:10 pm the regular Township Board Meeting was held at the Ovid Village Hall. Sinicropi called the meeting to order with the pledge o to the flag. Simpson gave the prayer. Six visitors were present. Board members present were Supervisor Anthony Sinicropi, Clerk Cindy Dennison, Treasurer Carolyn Stevens arriving late, and Trustees Paul Dutton and Charles Simpson. Scheduled Comments: Deputy Steve Loomis told the board that there wasn’t a lot happening in the township. There were 50 tickets given out for a little bit of everything according to Deputy Loomis. Public Comment: John Tribfelner was scheduled, but he did not attend the meeting. General Business: Motion made by Dutton, seconded by Simpson to approve the agenda with the corrections being made to the date of the board meeting on the agenda form 5- 10-2007 to 6-14-2007 and the dates for Maple Grove Cemetery form July5 to July 3, 2007, OMEAS meeting from July 25 to July 24, 2007, County MTA meeting doesn’t take place in July and August. And with the seven items being added to new business starting with (c): c: Sinicropi and Deputy Givens attending a zoning and Planning seminar July 31, 2007. d: MTA seminar in Washington DC in Sept. e: Fireworks permit for Owosso Speedway. f: Maple Grove Cemetery- surveying and selling cemetery plots in new area. h: Insurance policy renewal. i: Where the board meeting is held. Motion made by Dutton and seconded by Sinicropi to the approve the minutes of the May 10,2007 with correction of Patter to Potter and Dig to ditch problem, all ayes , no nays, motion carried. A motion was made by Sinicropi to approve the treasurers report, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. A motion was made by Sinicropi, seconded by Stevens to pay June bills in the amount of $23,892.00 (checks 1905-1933), all ayes, no nays, motion carried. Unfinished Business: Mike Leaf gave Supervisor Sinicropi a request for information. Leaf requested copies of all plats pertaining to his real estate. The board decided that Mark Cooley should send a registered letter to Mr. Leaf. New Business: a) Motion was made by Dutton, seconded by Simpson to accept Clerk Dennison resignation as of July 1, 2007, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. b) Motion was made by Stevens, seconded by Sinicropi to appoint Susan Tomasek-Swan to Clerk, all ayes, no nays, and motion carried. c) Motion made by Dennison seconded by Simpson to approve Deputy Givens and Supervisor Sinicropi attending a Zoning and Planning Seminar in Frankenmuth July 31,2007, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. d) Stevens withdrew the request to attend the MTA seminar in Washington. e) Motion was made by Sinicropi seconded by Simpson to approve the permit for Race Track Fireworks with applicant providing the license of the firework displayer, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. F) President Ordway talked to Dutton about the concept of moving ahead with the surveying and selling of plots in the new area of M.G.C. Dutton will report back to the board. g)Motion was made by Stevens and seconded by Sinicropi to appoint Audrey Sovis to do Cemetery updating and working with Sexton Fortin on selling and o/c of graves for $9.00 a hour, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. h) Motion was made by Sinicropi and seconded by Dennison to have Deputy Givens, Supervisor Sinicropi and Clerk Tomasek-Swan meet with the insurance rep. for an in person review of the insurance policy. i) Motion was made by Dutton and seconded by Stevens to continue holding regular Township meetings at the Ovid Village hall with the exception of August, all ayes, no nays, motion carried.
