Middlebury Township Board Minutes,June 10, 2010 Draft Minutes Page 1 Middlebury Township Board Regular Meeting 06/10/10 07:00 PM Ovid Municipal Building 114 East Front Street, Ovid, Michigan 48866 Minutes Supervisor Anthony Sinicropi called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm Call To Order with a Pledge to the Flag and a prayer led by Richard Semans. Members Present: Supervisor Anthony Sinicropi, Clerk Susan Roll Call Tomasek-Swan, Treasurer Carolyn Stevens, Trustee Erin Dutton and Trustee Paul Dutton. Guest Present: Five Guest were present. Present were Mike Herendeen, Richard Semans, Bob Dennison, John Tribfelner, Doug Krebiehl. Scheduled Comments: Scheduled Comments None None Public Comments Opened 7:06pm Closed 7:07pm Moved by P. Dutton, seconded by Tomasek-Swan, to approve the Motion to Approve Agenda Agenda with the additions under new business: e) cemetery stakes f) roads g) former fruit stand issue. AYE: P. Dutton, E. Dutton, Stevens, Tomasek-Swan, Sinicropi NO: none CARRIED AGENDA APPROVED Moved by E. Dutton, seconded by Sinicropi to approve the minutes Minutes Approved from May 13, 2010 regular township board meeting with no 05/13/10 corrections. AYE: P. Dutton, E. Dutton, Stevens, Tomasek-Swan, Sinicropi NO: none CARRIED Moved by Stevens and seconded by E. Dutton to approve the Treasurer's Report Approved March Treasurer's report as presented. AYE: P. Dutton, E. Dutton, Stevens, Tomasek-Swan, Sinicropi NO: none CARRIED Moved by P. Dutton and seconded by Sinicropi to pay bills in with Bills Payment Approved checks numbered 2604-2619 in amount of $6,075.52 from general Fund check number 1005 in the amount of $9,212.50. AYE: P. Dutton, E. Dutton, Stevens, Tomasek-Swan, Sinicropi NO: none CARRIED Tomasek-Swan informed the board about the Mulder situation. It was Communications discovered that Katherine was buried in the wrong plot in the the family lot. The error occurred over ten years ago. The situation will be corrected. Sinicropi stated he will check on the matter regarding Lupe Garcia not Unfinished Business delivering the carpet. New Business E. Dutton made a motion to approve the application for fireworks display at the Owosso Speedway on July 3, 2010. P. Dutton seconded the motion. Fireworks Motion AYE: P. Dutton, E. Dutton, Stevens, Tomasek-Swan, Sinicropi NO: none CARRIED Tomasek-Swan spoke to the board about wanting to update the Chart of Accounts before the next fiscal year. Tomasek-Swan informed the board of the letter received regarding updates needed on the ramp to the township hall entrance to satisfy the HAVA. Doug Krebiehl had looked into the situation and knew how to take care of the issue. Tomasek-Swan spoke to the person in charge of the HAVA and was directed to a possible grant to help make repairs to the hall. Tomasek-Swan will look into applying for the grant. Stevens made a motion and was supported by Sinicropi for Doug Carpet Motion Krebiehl to purchase carpet for the township hall to $1000.00. AYE: P. Dutton, E. Dutton, Stevens, Tomasek-Swan, Sinicropi NO: none CARRIED Tomasek-Swan made a motion and was supported by E. Dutton Cemetery stakes motion to have the sexton, John Tribfelner purchase stakes for the cemetery to mark off the boundaries for a maximum amount of $150.00. AYE: P. Dutton, E. Dutton, Stevens, Tomasek-Swan, Sinicropi NO: none CARRIED P. Dutton updated the board on the road commissions projects and discussed the brush spraying. P. Dutton informed the board about the property on M-21 where the former fruit stand was located. The owner has until July 7th to clean up his property or the county will step in and take care of the debris.
