Middlebury Township Board Minutes, December 9,2010 Draft Minutes Middlebury Township Board Regular Meeting Thursday, December 9, 2010 7pm Ovid Municipal Building 114 East Front Street, Ovid, Michigan 48866 Minutes Supervisor Anthony Sinicropi called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm Call To Order with a Pledge to the Flag and a prayer led by Trustee Paul Dutton. Members Present: Supervisor Anthony Sinicropi, Clerk Susan Roll Call Tomasek-Swan, Treasurer Carolyn Stevens, Trustee Erin Dutton and Trustee Paul Dutton. Guest Present: There were five guests present. Scheduled Comments: Scheduled Comments Dan Stewart arrived at 7:50 pm. He updated the board on the activities at the county level. Some of the topics discussed included the Shiawassee Co. Health Department's 2% price increase for service fees, putting term limits on contract renewals, the deer pick up issue,and appointments of vacant positions. Gary Kriger spoke in support of the Owosso Speedway. Public Comments Opened 7:05pm Bob Dennison relayed information about the Habitat for Humanity project that the United Church of Ovid was sponsoring. He wanted the community to be aware that anyone can help with this project. Closed 7:14 pm Moved by P. Dutton, seconded by E. Dutton, to approve the agenda Motion to Approve Agenda with the addition (g) plowing under new business. AYE: All NO: none CARRIED AGENDA APPROVED Moved by P. Dutton, seconded by Stevens to approve the minutes Minutes Approved from November 11, 2010 regular township board meeting with “as” March 12,2009 corrected to “ad”. AYE: All NO: none CARRIED Moved by P. Dutton and seconded by Tomasek-Swan to approve the Treasurer's report as presented. Treasurer's Report Approved AYE: All NO: none CARRIED Moved by P. Dutton and seconded by E. Dutton to pay bills with Bills Payment Approved checks numbered 2728-2741 for a total amount of $9,239.10. AYE: All NO: none CARRIED Communications Tomasek-Swan reminded the board for the need to begin gathering information to start the FY 2011-2012 budget. Tomasek-Swan informed the board about new government rulings with regards to form 1099. The board extended their sympathies to Carolyn Stevens for the loss of her mother. None Unfinished Business New Business E. Dutton made a motion to send Tony Sinicropi and Michael Herendeen to the MTA Annual Conference. P. Dutton seconded the motion. AYE: All NO: none CARRIED Stevens made a motion to meet at the Middlebury Township Hall located at 7627 W. M-21, Ovid, Mi beginning with the January 2011 meeting. The motion was seconded by E. Dutton. AYE: All NO: none CARRIED Tomasek-Swan will place ads in local papers to notify the public. Tomasek-Swan made a motion to send P. Dutton and Mike Herendeen to the Shiawassee Road Commission meeting on Dec. 16, 2010. AYE: All NO: none CARRIED P. Dutton made a motion to approve the Clerk to join the MAMC at a cost of $50.00 per year. E. Dutton seconded the motion. AYE: All NO: none CARRIED E. Dutton made a motion for the approval of snow removal (as needed for meetings) by John Tribfelner as follows: Plow the drive, shovel and salt the sidewalk - $50.00 Shovel and salt the sidewalk only - $25.00 Sinicropi seconded the motion.
