Middlebury Township Board Minutes Draft Minutes Middlebury Township Board Regular Meeting Wednesday April 11, 2012 Middlebury Township Hall 7627 W. M-21 Ovid, Michigan 48866 Minutes Supervisor Anthony Sinicropi called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm Call To Order with a Pledge to the Flag and a prayer led by Trustee Paul Dutton. Members Present: Supervisor Anthony Sinicropi, Clerk Susan Roll Call Tomasek-Swan, Treasurer Carolyn Stevens, Trustee Erin Dutton and Trustee Paul Dutton. Guest Present: Lynn and Rich Givens, Gary Kiger, Bob Dennison, Matthew Van Epps, Scheduled Comments: Scheduled Comments None Matthew Van Epps, candidate for probate judge, introduced himself to the board and guests of the meeting. He spoke about his qualification and his roots in the area. Public Comments Opened 7:06Closed 7:17 pm Bob Dennison asked about the OMESA issue (the title situation). Michael Herendeen, Deputy Supervisor, addressed the issue and stated that the case has been filed two weeks ago. Bob also asked about the Elm Road property. The purchase agreement has been signed but no money has been exchanged. Michael Herendeen stated that he met with Jim Civille and the hospital is still planning on going through with the deal. Moved by E.Dutton, seconded by P. Dutton, to approve the agenda with the addition of Road Contract. Motion to Approve Agenda AYE: All NO: none CARRIED AGENDA APPROVED Moved by Sinicropi, seconded by Stevens to approve the minutes from March 14, 2012 with the correction of grammar errors. Minutes Approved AYE: All NO: none CARRIED Moved by Stevens and seconded by P. Dutton to approve the Banking's report as presented. Treasurer's Report Approved AYE: All NO: none CARRIED Moved by P. Dutton and seconded Sinicropi by to pay bills in with checks numbered 3041-3059 in an amount of $9,417.76. Bills Payment Approved AYE: All NO: none CARRIED Sinicropi wanted to inform the board that an attorney from the Abood firm called regarding the possible selling of property surrounding the township hall. Communications Resolution 2012-04 "Establishing meeting and per diem" was offered by Sinicropi and Supported by E. Dutton. Unfinished Business Roll Call vote AYE: P. Dutton, E. Dutton, Tomasek-Swan, Sinicropi, Stevens NAY: None New Business GASB policy was tabled until next month awaiting further information. Made by Tomasek-Swan and seconded by P. Dutton. AYE: ALL NO: none carried Resolution 2012-05, Authorizing road millage to be placed on the ballot will be tabled until the next meeting to clarify the language that it is a renewal. Tomasek-Swan made motion seconded by Stevens. AYE: ALL NO: Joint Chip Seal Agreement Final Comments Paul expressed the need for some more crushed rocks and placing reflectors in our township hall's driveway. Erin brought up that two shutters from the township hall windows are missing. Tony suggested to put it on next month's agenda and find out how much it will cost us.
