Call to Order:
Supervisor Herendeen called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with a pledge to the flag and a prayer led
by Richard Semans.
Board Members Present:
Supervisor Michael Herendeen, Clerk Susan Tomasek-Swan, Treasurer Carolyn Stevens, Trustee Gary
Kiger and Trustee Richard Givens
Guests Present:
Anthony Sinicropi, Deputy Supervisor; Richard Semans, OMESA representative; Diane and Mile Dowler,
Middlebury Township Assessor

Richard Semans stated to the board that he has received the signed property deed as of today, June 12.
OMESA (Ovid. Middlebury Emergency Service Authority) can stop the court proceeding. Rowe
engineering company is drawing the design for the road access to the cell tower which is located on
OMESA property. There was a brief discussion regarding the cell tower and the benefits to OMESA.
Motion to Approve Agenda:
Givens made a motion to approve the agenda with the addition of item number 4. Carpet. Stevens
seconded the motion.

Motion to Approve Minutes:
Stevens made a motion to approve the minute from May 8, 2013 meeting. Tomasek-Swan seconded the
motion.

Motion to Approve Bills:
Givens made a motion to approve paying the bills with checks 3349-3365 with void on checks 3350 and
3358 and 2 EFTs
in an amount of $6,300.75 from General Fund account and check 1018 for $315.77
from the Road Fund account.

Elm Road Property: A motion was made Herendeen to authorize the Supervisor to execute all the
documents for the sale of Elm Road property in accordance with purchase agreement t between the
township and Memorial Hospital. Stevens seconded the motion.

Adopting the Principles of Governance: Tomasek-Swan made a motion to adopt the Principles of
Governance as outlined by the MTA (Michigan Township Association).
Givens seconded the motion.

Carpet Quote: Stevens made a motion to investigate the cost of replacing carpet and moving and
storing the equipment in the hall to bring back to the board for theduly meeting. Givens supported the
motion.

Questions were raised about what area was going to be réplaced. The’colors were also discussed.

Richard Semans noted the brine has been appliéd,to the roads and it looks nice. The Shiawassee Road
Commission is working on N Warren Rd.as Trustee Givens stated...
Stevens brought up aboutiavin asection just for cremains in the cemetery an idea brought up by
Trustee Givens.

Tony Sinicropi asked if our cemetery allowed silk flowers. The board assured silk flowers were allowed.
