Board Members Present: Supervisor Michael Herendeen, Clerk Susan Tomasek-Swan, Treasurer Carolyn Stevens, Trustee Gary Kiger and Trustee Richard Givens Guests Present: Anthony Sinicropi, Lynn Givens and Richard Semans Public Comments: Opened at 6:55 pm Closed at 7:00; 55pm None Presentation of Budget The treasurer, Carolyn Stevens was asked what the SET Fee was from. She replied it is the fee the schools pay to collect their taxes. Election workers, Deputies and Cemetery secretary rate increase was discuss. The main reason is for the discussion is due to minimum wage being increased. A possible two dollar increase for the hourly employees. Adjourned Budget Meeting 7:22pm Call to Order: Supervisor Herendeen called the meeting to order at 7:22 pm with a pledge to the flag and a prayer led by Richard Semans. Treasurer Stevens seconded the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Motion to Approve Minutes: Trustee Givens made a motion to approve the minutes from February 11, 2015 regular meeting. Clerk Tomasek Swan seconded the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Amending the 2014-2015 FY Budget Clerk Tomasek Swan made a motion to amend the 2014-2015 FY budget 0f 12,010.00 to create a balance budget. Trustee Givens seconded the motion. YES: All Nay: None Carried Motion to Approve Bills: Clerk Tomasek Swan made a motion to approve paying the bills with checks 3736-3751 void on 3743 and 2 EFT in an amount of $8,997.64 seconded the motion. Trustee Givens seconded the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Communications: Tomasek Swan updated the board on the library’s purchase of a memorial bench and new copier. No MTA meeting, Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation meetings this month Business: Trustee Givens made the motion to appoint Erin Dutton to the Library board for another 4 years. Treasurer Stevens seconded the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Appropriation motion for Park and Recreation was postponed until the April’s meeting. Further information was needed. Trustee Givens made a motion to appropriate $600.00 dollars to the Village of Ovid recycling program to allow our Middlebury township residents to recycle. Motion was seconded by Treasurer Stevens. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Trustee Givens made a motion to approve Daystarr application. Treasurer Stevens seconded the motion. Supervisor Herendeen will complete the paperwork. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Resolution 2015-03 Adoption of FY 2015-2016 Budget: Trustee Givens offered resolution 2015-03, the adoption of FY 2015-2016 Budget. Treasurer Stevens supported the resolution. Roll Call Vote: AYE: R. Givens, G. Kiger, C. Steven, S. Tomasek-Swan, M. Herendeen Nay: None Resolution declared adopted. Supervisor Herendeen made a motion for the purchase of seamless gutters for the township building at $640.00 dollars. Treasurer Stevens seconded the motion. Yes: All Nay: none carried Final Comments: Opened at 8:25 pm Closed at 8:45 The board discussed the future of the township building. Many ideas and proposals were discussed.
