Middlebury Township PO Box 622, Ovid, Michigan 48866 Regular Board Minutes Middlebury Township Hall 7627 W M21, Ovid Michigan Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 7:00 pm Call to Order: Supervisor Herendeen called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with a pledge to the flag and a prayer led by Richard Semans. Board Members Present: Supervisor Michael Herendeen, Clerk Susan Tomasek-Swan, Treasurer Carolyn Stevens, Trustee Gary Kiger and Trustee Richard Semans Guests Present: Rose Brown and several residence in Middlebury Township (see attached for sign in sheet) Scheduled Comments: None Public Comments: Opened at 7:03 pm Closed at 7:45 pm Many township residence shared their concerns regarding the Wind Turbines letter that was sent out throughout Middlebury Township. Refer to the letter in the board packet for more details. The Township board shared with the residence that they need to attend the County Commissioner meeting coming up in November and Planning Commission meeting on November 16th at 7:00. It was also shared with the board that there will be an expert speaker tomorrow November 15th at Rush Township at 7:00 if we would like to attend. Opened public comments with no objections at 7:48 pm Closed at 7:58 pm Corky McCreery shared his concerns with the roads on Wilkinson Road to the east of Meridian road regarding water in the ditches on both sides and Mason Road west of Warren Road issues. Mr. Stringham shared his concerns with people breaking and entering near Mason and Vincent road. Motion to Approve Agenda: A motion was made to approve the agenda as presented and seconded. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Motion to Approve Minutes: Trustee Semans made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Treasurer Stevens seconded the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Motion to Approve Bills: Treasurer Stevens made a motion to pay invoices and approve checks from the General Fund checks 4081-4101 and 2 EFTs in an amount of $13,950.64. Clerk Tomasek-Swan seconded the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Communications: Park and Rec: No meeting until November 16th. Library: Minutes are attached as well as informational info on the number of residence that use their services. MTA Meeting: Two of the board members will be attending the Anthem Township board meeting on Saturday. OMESA: Still adjusting to the changes and still working on amending the Articles of Incorporation with a 6 member board. The new truck is currently in-service and almost ready for use. Business: 1.) Adopting Resolution 2016-07 Minutes Dates for 2017 – Clerk Tomasek-Swan made a motion to Adopt Resolution 2016-07 Minutes Date for 2017. Treasurer Stevens seconded the motion. Roll Call: Clerk Tomasek-Swan-Yes, Trustee Semans-Yes, Treasurer Stevens-Yes, Trustee Kiger- Yes, Supervisor Herendeen-Yes. Supervisor Herendeen declared the resolution adopted. Final Comments: Opened at 8:20 pm Closed at 8:24 pm Semans gave the board his resignation from the OMESA board.
