M-21, Ovid, MI Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 7:00 pm REGULAR MEETING Call to Order: Supervisor Swan called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Board Members Present: Supervisor Jeffery Swan, Clerk Jamie Aldrich, Treasurer Jill Ruess, Trustee Greg Atwood and Trustee Gene Ruess Guests Present: 8 Guests were present: among the guests were: Carolyn Stevens- Deputy Clerk, Michael Herendeen- Deputy Supervisor, Mark Holley- Assessor, Gary Criner, Bob Sauer, Gary Kiger and mark Darling, Susan Tomasek Swan. Scheduled Comments: None Public Comments: Opened at 7:01 pm Closed at 7:02 pm Mark Darling asked about recycle at the City of Ovid Motion to Approve Agenda: Trustee Atwood made a motion to approve agenda as amended. Trustee Ruess seconded the motion. Carried by Voice Vote Carried Motion to Approve Minutes: Trustee Ruess made motion to approve the September 12, 2023 minutes as presented. Trustee Atwood seconded the motion. Carried by Voice Vote Carried Motion to approve Bills Treasurer Ruess made a motion to approve bills from General Funds in the amount of $9,878.43 with checks #6018-6035 2EFTs and check #1081 for the amount of $369.18 from the Road Fund. Swan 2 | P a g e Middlebury Township Minutes 10/10/2023 Upon roll call vote the following voted Nay: none Communications: MTA- Supervisor talked about the HB regarding solar and wind rights being given to state. Continued to brief the board on MTA meeting. Library- Library had flood. Meeting minutes in packet. OMESA- Grant approved, $30,000.00 for gear. Firefighter retired. Spoke about needing more firefighters. Talked about needing a new power washer. Clerk- Signed early voter contract with County. Assessor- Nothing to report. Business: 1. Hall- Treasurer Ruess talked about getting some proposals for new hall. Talked about visiting some other township halls to see what they have. 2. Road Update- Complaint about Baldwin and Mason, Supervisor Swan has checked into complaint and the road is all finished now. Discussed getting a sign for Glenwood DR. Supervisor Swan will call road commission and see if that is something they will replace. Also ask to get replacement sign on Carland and Mc Bride RD. 3. Ambulance Contract- Supervisor Swan spoke to Kevin Lenkart at City of Owosso about ambulance contract. He will schedule meeting with him to go over rates. 4. Expense Vouchers- Please make sure that you fill out your monthly expense voucher. 5. Ballot Box- We are putting in a new ballot box in. Will be installing camera. Supervisor Swan will talk to Matt about pouring a foundation for it. Final Comments: Opened at 7:52 pm Closed at 7:56 pm MTA Online Subscription.
