M-21, Ovid, MI Tuesday, January 9, 2022 at 7:00 pm REGULAR MEETING Call to Order: Supervisor Swan called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Board Members Present: Supervisor Jeffery Swan, Clerk Jamie Aldrich, Treasurer Jill Ruess, and Trustee Gene Ruess Trustee Greg Atwood absent. Guests Present: Guests were present: 9 Mike Herendeen, Gary Keiger, Mark Holly, Dennis Owosso Speedway, Road Commission Chris Cannon, Ric Crawford, Jeremy Dietz, Mike Constine, John Michalec. Voice Vote: Ayes: All Nays: None Carried Motion to approve Bills J. Ruess made a motion to approve bills from General Funds in the amount 6068-6085 $9,148.30 an EFT for $1,063.30, and 4 debits for $1,398.18 For a total general fund amount of $11,609.78 OMESA Check 1054 for $1,237.50. Library- OMESA- New truck is moving along, should have it sometime in April. Clerk- Election prep and absentee ballots are in full swing. The Meridian Weekly posted our meeting dates incorrectly with the year stating 2021. We have spoke to them and they are re running it with the correct year of 2024. Assessor- Board of review dates : March 12 - 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM March 13 - 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM Working on site inspection for Owosso Speedway. Business: 1.) Road Contracts. Chris Cannon from Shiawassee County Road Commission presented information on the upcoming 2024 road project proposal. No changes for 2024 brine. 2.) Emergency Services Resolution. J. Swan recapped the increases to the price for emergency services. Went over the resolution for the millage increase, discussed if we want the millage for 4 or 6 years. M. Herendeen will review and send info to J. Swan. They will then have Mr. McKone take a look at it before we put on ballot. 3.) Clerk computer and scanner. Just received new debit card and pin. J. Swan and J. Aldrich will get this ordered this month. 4.) Camera for outside. J. Swan has the cameras and ordered the proper cable. Will install when all supplies are here. 5.) Township Website. J. Swan is still working on the website. 6.) BOR Pay Rate Printed and reviewed 2022 BOR Compensation Resolution. 7.) Voting- With additional duties we need to start looking into pay increase. Discussed tracking additional duties that come with all the new election changes. Possibly a stipend for election times. 8.) Driveway- J. Swan will get with Crow to discuss moving forward with the purchase of additional land that our current driveway is on. Final Comments: Opened at 8:05 pm Closed at 8:10 pm Dennis from Owosso Speedway spoke about the job fair this weekend, January 13th at Owosso Speedway. Even with the weather they plan on moving forward with the Job Fair, went over what they are searching for. Motion to adjourn the meeting: Adjourned at 8:10 pm J.
