M-21, Ovid, MI Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 7:00 pm REGULAR MEETING Call to Order: Supervisor Swan called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Board Members Present: Supervisor Jeffery Swan, Clerk Jamie Aldrich, Treasurer Jill Ruess, Trustee Greg Atwood and Trustee Gene Ruess Guests Present: Guests were present: Dennis from Owosso Speedway, Caroline Wilson, Dave Wilson, Deputy Burns, Gary Keiger, Susan Bettes, M. Herendeen. Scheduled Comments: Public Comments: Opened at 7:01 pm Closed at 7:14 pm Caroline Wilson: Spoke about the changes with the election law changes. Talked about loosing clerks throughout and the need for pay increase. Received notification about our public accuracy testing, she will forward the email to us. Motion to Approve Agenda: G. Ruess made a motion to approve bills from General Funds in the amount of $8,481.83 with checks #6095-6103 1 EFTs $2,215.84 for a total amount of $10,697.67. G. Atwood seconded the motion. Swan Communications: MTA- They are looking for signatures to put a proposal on the ballot for wind and solar to move control back to local government. Library- Closed right now for updates. Next meeting is the 21st and will be held at the fire department. OMESA- New truck is in Grayling being outfitted. Clerk- We attended a meeting with the local clerks to go over early voting. Angela and I also did some personal training with the county clerk. Assessor- Treasurer- CD renewal next month. Requested organizational meeting. Business: 1.) Maner Costerian. They are the yearly Auditors for Middlebury Township. They are willing to sit down and go over this with us. 2.) Discuss Election help from another township. Tina Homes and Holly Sammons, both of Vernon township have offered to help us with the 2024 elections. Tina requires a wage of $25.00/hr she has been the chair person for 6 years. Holly has also worked for Vernon township for several years and requires $17.00/hr. Both have great knowledge and are helping the county run the early voting poll. Motion made by J. Aldrich and second G. Ruess to hire Tina Homes at $25.00hr and to hire Holly Sammons at $17.00hr for the February 27th 2024 election. Roll Call Ayes. G. Atwood, J. Aldrich, J. Ruess, G. Ruess, J.
